Description:

The Brown Coat Pub & Theatre in downtown Wilmington, NC, presents The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde's classic comedy satirizing among other things marriage, the wealthy and social customs of Victorian era England. The story revolves around two cheeky young men, who will go to any lengths to avoid their responsibilities and place self interest at the top of their own agendas. In order to impress their respected lady loves, both men pretend that their names are “Ernest,” which both young ladies believe confers magical qualities on the possessor.
