On the intimate stage at the reception hall at Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC, Songs For A New World transports the audience from the deck of sailing vessel, circa 1492, to a building 57 floors above 5th Avenue in New York City. Along the way, we meet a cast of characters ranging from a young man struggling to get out of poverty, to a woman whose dream of marrying a wealthy man turns into a nightmare. The small, gifted cast nails the exquisitely crafted score made up of an array of today's popular music.
