RESCHEDULED FROM NOV. 4. Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC, celebrates the artistry and life of Rowan LeCompte; renowned stained glass artist whose extensive body of work includes more than 30 years of creating stained glass windows at the Washington National Cathedral. His windows are installed in Wilmington at Cameron Art Museum’s Weyerhaeuser Reception Hall, Church of the Servant, First Baptist Church and New Hanover Regional Medical Center. On display for this event will be select working drawings and paintings created by Rowan LeCompte, which present greater understanding of the artist's intricate process when creating a work in stained glass. Rowan LeCompte and his wife Peggy will be present for the event. Screening at 3:30pm is the Wilmington premiere of Let There Be Light (2012, 96 minutes), by Peter Swanson, the definitive documentary of LeCompte’s lifetime of work. The filmmaker Peter Swanson will introduce the movie.
