Sponsored by UNCW's Women's Student Association and the Women's Studies and Resource Center, Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues comes to Lumina Theater in Wilmington, NC. In a presentation that has been described as both "hilarious" and "disturbing," Ensler interviewed more than 200 women worldwide to celebrate female sexuality and strength. The Vagina Monologues is also an annual celebration of "V-DAY", an international movement to heighten awareness and raise money for anti-violence organizations. This year's performance benefits the Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons Center, the Carousel Center for Abused Children, and V-Day International 2013.
