Description:

The 20th Annual Intercultural Week at UNCW in Wilmington, NC features films, performances, workshops, panel discussions and lectures, and celebrates the community's and the university's rich diversity.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Monday: Hispanic Education Lecture, 10am, Education Building, 162;  Global Trivia Spin & Win, Noon, Chancellor's Walk; Music From Around the World, 4-6pm, Lumina Theater; Film Screening, 7-9pm, Lumina Theater, Les Hommes Libres (Free Men), In Paris during WWII, an Algerian immigrant is inspired to join the resistance by his unexpected friendship with a Jewish man.

Tuesday: Grade school students present multi-media projects, 9:30am, Education Building, 162; US Foreign Aid: Focus on Central America and the Caribbean, 3:30, Cameron Hall 105; Access to Higher Education for Undocumented Youth, 5:30pm, CI 1008; Asian Themed Cuisine celebrating the Lunar New Year, 6-8pm, Dining Hall (payment required); Film Screening, 7-9pm, Lumina Theater, Love in the Time of Cholera.  

Wednesday: Local Community Service, 9-11am, 25 South 3rd Street; Professional Etiquette Workshop, 6:30pm, Cameron Hall 210; Personal Stories from Refugees in Wilmington, 6:30pm, CI 1008.  

Thursday: Live Conference: Globalization of the Curriculum, 9:30-11:30am, Education Building 266; Sweet Treats from 8 Countries, 11am to 2pm, FUU Azalea Coast Room; Documentary Screening, 3-5pm, Randall Library, La Vida No Es Facil (Life Is Not Easy); Film Screening, 7-9pm, Lumina Theater, Amelie.

Friday: Discussion: How Immigration Laws are Affecting Our Community, Noon to 1pm, Cameron Hall 101; Salsa Workshop, 7-9pm, Warwick Center; 15th Annual Port City Step Show, 7:30pm, Kenan Auditorium.

Saturday: Food, dance, music, performances and exhibits at the Burney Center, 11am to 3pm.
