A Kind of Seeing: Scotland on Film at Jengo's Playhouse in Wilmington, NC, is a live guided tour through a selection of Scotland’s most important and rare archive films chosen specially for the 20th Annual Cucalorus Film Festival, and representing more than 100 years of history. Connecting the Cape Fear area’s historic Scottish bonds, archive film programmer Shona Thomson takes patrons on a tour of the Scottish Screen Archive, home of Scotland’s moving image collection. A Kind of Seeing explores the cinematic roots of a wee nation that proudly embraces its global identity: from early whisky advertisements to Laurel and Hardy in Edinburgh, to finally solving the Loch Ness Monster mystery.
