The 11th Annual Polar Plunge at the Kure Beach Pavilion near the boardwalk and pier features brrrrave swimmers taking a dip in the chilly Atlantic Ocean, plus a 5K, live music, silent auction, costume contest, art, food, and more. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics New Hanover County. REGISTER ONLINE. Free for spectators. HOURS: 11am to 3:30pm.
