Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington presents the North Carolina Arts Council’s Artist Fellowship Exhibition featuring the works of 17 contemporary artists including 10 visual artists, three craft artists, two film/video artists, and two choreographers — all recipients of the 2016-2017 Artist Fellowship awards. Works range from the sculptural art of used silver platters by former Penland artist Jaydan Moore to the paintings of Lien Truong of Chapel Hill that reinterprets The Course of Empire by Thomas Cole, a Hudson River School mid-19th century painter. Also, Katina Parker, a filmmaker from Durham, has five short videos for viewing, and Asheville artist Jackson Martin’s offers an installation composed of 300 hand-cut pieces of vinyl mesh fabric that reflect the dimensions of traditional cinder block. HOURS: Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm (open late Thursday, until 9pm).
