Description:

Cheers to the Port City: A History of Beer & Brewing in Wilmington at Waterline Brewing features beer historian and enthusiast Chance Hellmann discussing early beer consumption in the South. As the colonies matured and eventually became the United States, both the places and people acquired their beer and the types of beer they consumed changed. This talk explores these early styles and where they came from. Hellmann will also look at one of Wilmington's earliest breweries, owned and operated by Jethro Thain from 1847-1849. $1 from each beer sold will benefit the Bellamy Mansion Museum's community programming.
