Description:
Rims on the River in Wilmington, NC, is an annual event featuring cars and motorcycles dating to 1980 and older lining the streets of the historic downtown area, with the Cape Fear River as their backdrop. This event has grown every year and draws a wide variety of vehicles from the entire southeast region of the state, as well as a few neighboring states. Rims on the River takes place on North and South Front Streets, all the way from Orange Street, heading north to Red Cross Street, near Cape Fear Community College.
MUSIC LINEUP
FRIDAY: Hell's Kitchen, Dualing Pianos, 9pm; The Soapbox, L Shape Lot CD Release Party, 8pm.
SATURDAY: Free concert at Riverfront Park begins at 5pm featuring The Barnraisers (5pm), Skye Paige & The Original Recipe (6:30pm), The Belmont Playboys (8pm), and Southern Culture on the Skids (9:30pm).
SUNDAY (Noon to 5pm): Locals Only Show. Sponsored by area merchants, this is an exhibit of cars where businesses award trophies for the favorite vehicle, FREE with limited space available. Enter from S. Front St. This event is sponsored by the Barbary Coast, Duck & Dive, and The Reel Cafe (Dock St. between S.2nd & Water St. and S. Front between Dock & Orange). Fun giveaways, to register enter any of the sponsoring venues to get your punch card! Awards to be given out at 3:45pm at the corner of Dock & S. Front Street.
