Description:

The Cape Fear community is invited to participate in an Iron Pour at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC. Arrive early to get a scratch block to carve a design into. Scratch blocks are highly compressed sand-composite blocks that contain a small flat well for etching a relief design. Once complete, the scratch block well is filled with hot molten metal and left to cool. The relief is then removed from the scratch block and the reverse design is revealed. HOURS: Noon to 2pm.

This event is in conjunction with the public art installation, Rise Up Wilmington, with Charlie Brouwer, which begins at 11am.
