Description:

The 2nd Saturdays Program at Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site in Winnabow, NC features Dr. Stanley South, who will “dig up” memories of his site excavations from 1958-1968. Archaeologists Linda Carnes-McNaughton and Thomas E. Beamon also will discuss and examine pottery past and present. Dr. South will speak from 10-10:45am and will sign copies of his book, Archaeology at Colonial Brunswick. In addition to discussing materials from the past, the archaeologists will help visitors identify objects brought in from “backyard collections” they have discovered and recovered. HOURS: 10am to 4pm.

2nd Saturdays programs will be held during the summer at the 27 state historic sites and seven history museums within the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources. The family fun presents arts, history and/or music, and each venue creates its own authentic experience.
